Welcome to My New Sports Blog

Greeting!

My name is Kimberly (Kim) Reinders and this is the new and improved Wisconsin Sports Blog. This is something that I have been trying to do the last couple of years, but it has proven rather difficult because of all of the updates that go into keeping it a live site. So here we go again!

My passion for sports started when I was a young girl when my parents took me and my sister to our first Milwaukee Brewers game. It was such an experience and it has followed me into college working for my campus television station. While working for them, I found my passion in both being in front of the camera and in a controlled live setting behind the scenes.

Freshman year I came in with no real idea of what exactly I wanted to be doing after college, but I just immersed myself into the world of television. I was in a rough patch in my life but with my learning community it felt like I actually belonged to a group again. I made sure to get involved right away in that I joined the television station right away as a sports announcer in the fall. It has been such a blessing to get on right away and be working towards my final goal-making as a sports reporter one day.

I continued to be an announcer for the station and was hired as a student tech in the fall of 2018 and have worked here ever since. As for my announcing, I have worked as an in-studio host for the pregame show for basketball and football, have directed the pregame show for soccer, volleyball, and basketball, and announced softball and baseball games.

With all of this announcing that I have done, I have earned four awards including a first-place award from Wisconsin Community Media. As a junior, having these four awards already is something that I didn’t believe that could happen. Two of them came from a softball game I announced freshman year and featured an over-the-fence catch that made ESPN’s Top 10 plays the next day.

Everyday I try to take on a new project at the station and make myself feel busy without overwhelming myself with other commitments. I enjoy working here and being able to share my talents no matter what sport is in season.

I hope you enjoy any content that is posted here because I love talking about it!
